Traffic Engineering request
from Traffic Engineering – We have practically no data relevant to bicycles. Our accident information is good but that is it. We need bicycle counts; good information will help us make better decisions. We need your advise on where to count. Where are the intersections that are most used by cyclist? We’ve all ready counted at Sparkman and Technology. Where should we go next? Note last time they measured from 9:30am to 4:30pm.

If they are trying to capture peak bicycle traffic, I don’t think 9:30am-4:30pm is a good time frame. Most people commuting for work are going to be out earlier and later than that window, in my opinion. Students might be a different story.
I commute in from Madison via Farrow Road to Bradford Drive to Wynn Drive and finally Technology.
Would love to be able to go straight up Old Madison Pike though. I’m usually off the bike in the mornings no later than 7:15-7:30. Ideally I’m leaving to go home by 3:30-4.
I agree with the others, these are not ideal times and why waste time and effort until we get this set up for the correct time first.
I think it was an appropriate time for UAH. I made sure to mention the time because that is an important thing that varies for the location. I’m not with Traffic Engineering, but I had more of location and time in mind than just location.
They will be recording at Holmes/Jordan tomorrow starting at 6:30
